Some of the activities initiated this year by the Forensic Society were activities in which they partici- pated in speech activities in front of the student body, various speech festivals and tournaments that Hugh Obi! John Dillon Harold Robertson were held throughout the year, and professional play productions in which they attended and actively participated in at the Kennedy Theater and Honolulu Community Theater. Climaxing a successful year as a speech and drama club, the members undertook a speech tournament on the island of Kauai.

Pep Club, Band Enliven Merriment Around Campus Pep Club Primarily interested. in boosting team spirit during the football and basketball 'season was the main objec- tive of the active students in the AHS Pep Club. They succeeded in promoting the spirit of the Student Body to support the athletic teams to victory. Band Under the able directorship of Mr. Leslie Iwatani, the AHS Band played superbly at the football games and pep rallies. They also performed at commu- nity functions, and other school func- tions. The band gave tremendous support to the Select Choir at the Christmas Con- cert as well as the Annual Spring-Concert which concluded the musical year for the Aiea High School Band! The club is an organization which strived to foster good sports- manship and promote spirit within AHS. Members of this club were made up of those students who earned a varsity letter in any of the sports sponsored by AHS.
