Wir d of cience Emphasizes on Ybuth. . . Although man has made many strides in uncover- ing the secrets of science, there are many mysteries and wonders that must be solved. To uncover some of these mysteries and to make science an even more interesting subject were the major goals of The Wonderers, the Biology Club of Aiea High School. To undertake this monumental task, the club planned many and varied activities which marked the calendar of each member as fascinating and fun. Classifying plants, submitting reports on seminars attended, and catching tilapia for the University of California at Berkeley to be used in medical research of cancer were some of the activities planned. To supplement these projects and the classroom, numer- ous hikes and field trips to Coconut Island, the Planetarium and a camp out on the beach during the Spring recess were undertaken. An incentive system in which points were awarded to club members for participation was also estab- lished. In May a farewell camp was sponsored by the club to honor its senior members and prizes were awarded to members attaining the highest number of points as well as booby prizes for those attaining the least number of points. Together, as members of the Wonderers Biology Club, a great deal of wondering and wandering for the benefit of science was experienced.
