Honors 8L Composed primarily of ath- letes the Campus Police Offi- cers devoted their lunch hours in assisting faculty members to supewise the campus. Effi- ciently performing their duties the CPO,s kept the lunch lines moving and maintained order on campus. With the responsibility ot planning the various social functions for the Student body, the Social Committee succeeded in sponsoring five dances. Included were the Welcome, Homecoming, Christmas, Sweetheart Ball, and Aloha dances. These activ- ities helped transfer students from an academic world to a social world. To award students for their outstanding scholastic achieve- ments the Honors and Awards Committee was created. The recognition of these students were publicized in the annual Awards Assembly. To stimulate student interest and to create student awareness of school and community activities were the major con- cerns of the Publicity and Calendar Com- mittee. The committee accomplished this task by applying more effective methods of promoting interest through a monthly calendar and other media as posters and radio. Another committee assigned to the task of encouraging student interest was the Inter-club Council. Made up of representa- tives from all school-affiliated clubs, they sought ways to make club lite on campus more interesting and challenging. Homecoming 8L J alopy Committee Promoting public relations, whether ad- ministered through the individual or by correspondence, the Inter-School Rela- tions Committee carved a lasting impres- sion on visiting schools which participated in the exchange program. An added con- cept in this year's program was the ex- change of school bands and art works. Color . . . beauty . . . and strength were three factors that signified the splendor of a Homecoming game. Color . . . as in the creative floats devised by each class levelg beauty in the elegance ofthe Home- coming courtg and strength . . . as in the power of our football boys in gridiron battle.
