Constitution SL Handbook Committee W 7 as With the purpose of serving the students of Aiea High, the Guidance Committee, ID and Activity Card Committee and the Constitution and Handbook Committee worked for a successful and eventful year. The Guidance Committee functioned as a policy making body through which the various activities of the school were planned. To establish a means of identifica- tion for students of Aiea High the ID and Activity Card Committee issued ID cards to students for a nominal fee. Included in the committee's schedule Was the distribution of activity cards which were issued to students upon payment of their Student Body dues. Familiarizing students with rules and regulations by which the school functioned Was the main purpose of the Constitution and Handbook Com- mittee. Every month Aiea High's stu- dent body gathered together for entertainment sponsored by the Program, Assembly and Noon Hour committee. Whether in the form of melodious vibes or the splendor of a royal court reigning over the May Day festivities, the Program, Assembly and Noon Hour committee helped to van- quish worries of school work and made learning more enjoyable for students. However, there would be no court in the customary festivities as Aloha Week or May Day Assem- blies had it not been for the hard working Election Committee. The committee toiled to count and recount the ballots to make sure the true voice of the students was heard. To stimulate student interest and to create student awareness of school and community activities were the major con- cerns of the Publicity and Calendar Com- mittee. The committee accomplished this task by applying more effective methods of promoting interest through a monthly calendar and other media as posters and radio. Another committee assigned to the task of encouraging student interest was the Inter-club Council. Made up of representa- tives from all school-affiliated clubs, they sought ways to make club lite on campus more interesting and challenging.
