Many new innovations were cre- ated this year including the Mini-Workstock Festival, an underground newspaper, an evening May Day assembly, as well as the formation of an Alii Ball. The traditional events of dances, pep rallies and the Scholarship Breakfast were also part ofa busy year. President Lynne Kazama in conjunction with the General Assembly worked to perfect the organizational structure of the Student Government by making it an organization not only to plan and coordinate activities, but, also, to serve as a working medium where students could voice their opinions. The Honors and Awards Assembly as well as the Aloha Assembly were held at the end of the school year to close another chapter of the AHS Student Government.

Every month Aiea High's stu- dent body gathered together for entertainment sponsored by the Program, Assembly and Noon Hour committee. Whether in the form of melodious vibes or the splendor of a royal court reigning over the May Day festivities, the Program, Assembly and Noon Hour committee helped to van- quish worries of school work and made learning more enjoyable for students. However, there would be no court in the customary festivities as Aloha Week or May Day Assem- blies had it not been for the hard working Election Committee. The committee toiled to count and recount the ballots to make sure the true voice of the students was heard.
