In Memoriam Miss Zada Lee Boles dean of students, teacher, and friend, died this year on October 16, 1971. She has been with the Agua Fria Union High School District since the 1954-55 school term. She taught girl's physical education, served as a guidance cotmselor, directed the pom pon and cheerleading squads, and coached the girl's tennis and badminton teams among numerous other activities. In 1970 she won her first and only state championship in girl's tennis. Her badminton teams have placed high in state tournaments. Miss Boles was a leader state wide in developing good programs for high school girls. Always apparent was her outstanding leadership ability, her dignity, her cheerful- ness, her resourcefulness, and her ability to be modest in victory and courageous in defeat. Each year her in- fectious enthusiasm and optimism spread throughout the student body and staff and produced a school spirit sel- dom equalled. A continuing scholarship fund has been set-up in her memory. Two-hundred dollars will be given each year to a student who displays unusual school spirit, has an exceptional interest in the total school program, demonstrates the ability to succeed in a post secondary school, and who believes Agua Fria is iil and constantly strives to keep it number one. A Her love and intense loyalty to Agua Fria and her genuine interest in her students was an inspiration to all people with whom she had contact.
