When you think of school spirit, what do you see? This is the picture that comes to me: Agua Fria is people-spirit and all It's assemblies and classes and a rush in the hall. It's panic at grade cards, it's scarlet and gray It's clock-watching in class, and homework each clay. Elections each year, and the rivalry's keen All yearn for a scholarship 3 who will be queen? School spirit means projects and clubs with their fun And everyone working till all tasks are done. Bonfires and pep parades, cheerleaders and yells, The class-to-class dash at the sound of the bell. Tense moments at games, cheering the team Seeing the lawn's kept spotlessly clean. Council meetings and P.,A. news Honor First, Win or Lose. Formals and footballs, freshmen and fun The days when nothing seems to be done. Test tubes and workbooks, crayfish and teachers Kickoffs, when short ones must stand on the bleachers Vying' for championships, and on winning a few That special pride for the school overwhelms you. Deadlines and ink stains, tests and opening nights Girls with top lockers-and other gripes. The fatal moment when, life unfurled, You leave Agua Fria to face the world. ADMINISTRATION Few things are reserved exclusively for the administration . . . besides work. The morning rush at the mailbox . . . the quick minutes of relaxation caught in the faculty lounge . . . are the scarce moments of respite. These busy beavers behind our school . . . actively plan each day. They contribute so much to our school life . . . including . . . teaching what we must know . . . developing better citizens . . . sponsoring intramural activities, clubs, and classes . . . chaperoning dances . . . lunchroom duty . . . guidance . . . conversing with proud or irate parents at open house . . . freely giving of their precious time to help those in trouble or in need. These all-important people are the true leaders of our school . . . the men and women we look to for inspiration. Correcting . . . criticizing . . . listening . . . helping . . . sharing their knowl- edge with us . . . endlessly . . . without adequate recognition . . . especially from us, who take all they have to offer. Enough thanks could not possibly be given to all members of our excellent faculty and ad- ministration . . . the appreciation caught in our innermost selves is too deep to be expressed . . . or even realized . . . yet.
