TW CAPT C.W. Harrison Captain Curg W. Harrison is from Elizabethtown, Kentucky and attended Georgetown College, Georgetown, Kentucky and Jefferson School of Law, Louisville, Kentucky. He was commissioned in l942 and served in Gunnery and Engineering billets with patrol and reconnaissance squadrons during the war. Other sea tours have included duty as First Lieutenant af USS DULUTH lCL-875, Operations Officer and Navigator of USS JOSEPH P. KENNEDY CDD-8503, Executive Officer of USS BAYFIELD lAPA-333, and Commanding Officer of USS PORTERFIELD lDD-6825, which is a member of DesDiv Fifty-two. Primary tours ashore have included the General Line School, the Armed Forces Staff College and the Naval Control of Shipping Officer, Panama, Canal Zone. Captain Harrison came to DesDiv Fifty-Two from San Diego, where he was Assistant Chief or Staff for Personnel, Commander Cruiser-Destroyer Force, U. S. Pacific Fleet. CM DES DIV CAPT L. C. Bartlett Captain Lewis C. Bartlett is a native of the state of Florida and a graduate of the University of North Carolina. Commissioned an Ensign in l942, his first tour of duty was spent in patrol craft operating off the west coast of the United States. He later commanded a small coastal transport during the Solomon lslands campaign and served as navigator on the attack transport USS NATRONA during the battle of Okinawa. ln l945 Captain Bartlett was released to civilian life, but returned to active duty in l948. Since then his shore duty has included tours in the Bureau of Naval Personnel and the Office of Legislative Liaison in Washington, D. C. He served at sea in the Atlantic as Executive Officer of the destroyer NOA and as Commanding Officer of the destroyer USS ZELLARS. After completing the Naval Warfare course at the Naval War College, Newport, R. I., he reported aboard the cruiser USS HELENA as Executive Officer, where he remained until taking command of Destroyer Division Fifty-two.
