“The heck with the season, we beat West Side!” -Mark Tessicini ’84 Under first year coach, Carl Supino, the 1983-84 football team ended their season in a blaze of glory. Although they had an 0-9 record going into their last game, winning against Westside made everything seem worthwhile. The team ended a 16-game losing streak by overwhelming the Terriers with an 18-7 victory. Coach Supino was ecstatic over the win and attributed much of the victory to the tough defensive line and also to Bob Wing’s spectacular interception. The team’s never-ending determination really paid off in the end. Leading the team were tri-captains Dean Leclerc, Kevin O’Keefe and Mark Tessicini. Leading the team in defense were seniors Kevin O’Keefe, John Spellacy, Rocky Bush, Dave DeMatteo, and Bill Landry; Juniors A1 Ingham and Bob Wing; and Sophomore Tony Moccio. The offensive line was led by Dean Leclerc. Mark Tessicini, Darren Copple. Owen Humphries, Bob Wing and Ken Berard.
