as co-editors of the 1977 sachem staff, it has ' been our honor to help create the 50th anni- versary yearbook for agawam high school, in keeping with that idea, we’ve tried to develop two themes in our book, we've used the song old days. fby chicagd. to represent the' feelings of the senior class iipon our graduation, and the symbol of an hourglass to represent the past fifty years of seniors, graduation, and yearbooks. the song old days. winch is portrayed throughout the introduction of the sachem, was ■ :' -r)'' chosen as a means of reflecting the memories of our years at agawam high school, we also hope that in future years will be able to glance back through these pages and recall your old days, the hourglass symbol, which is portrayed throughout the entire book, is more of a repre- sentation of the past fifty years, we’d like to encourage you. by relics pictured with the hour- glass throughout tin book, to'remember this is a special yearbook and tin cla of 1977 is a spe- . cial ( lass to be receiving it. with these words in mind we hope you will enjoy the 1977 issue of sachem and cherish the memories we’ve tried to instill in these pages. 2
