Little Dragons poor on the power The Junior high football season proved to be as suc- cessful as the senior high. The little Dragons poured on the spirit and charged up to a 3-2 conference re- cord. Coached by Mr. Jim Carr the Dragons B team football players proved that despite their age and size they had the ability to win. Working hard and driving on through the lines the mighty Dragons won the majority of their games. Drive, desire and de- termination were the three D's that moved the big Dragons to top their season. A.H.S. girls work play their way to the top. The AHS girls who participated in sports this year found that it wasn't all fun and games. Among the sports that the girls could take part in were track, softball, volleyball, and basketball. Many of the girls found out that there was a lot behind making a good team. Not always win- ning and achieving their goals, they fought to do the best that they could. One of the most active groups of fem- inine athletes was the members of the girls' track team. This was the second year that AHS had a gals track team and it proved to be quite a success. This year AHS started a Jr. High team and these young girls were quite successful in the season. Many of the girls also participated in GAA sports such as the volleyball tourney at Luverne. They also took part in the three basketball games witht Pipestone and Ellsworth, while the track team traveled to one tri- angular at Ellsworth and one in Adrian, placing second in both.

FRONT ROW; J. Eickoff, R. Schutz, R. Rohwer, A. Schei, J. Brake. BACK ROW: J. Stenke Coach, J. Ferguson, M. Bullerman, B. Holzmer, W. Henricksen, M. Heitkamp, R. Johnson, S. Scheidt. FRONT ROW: B. Oertli, L. Berning, W. Loger, J. Klinkenborg, M. Erlandson, M. Taylor, BACK ROW: G. Merriam, coach, R. Klingen- berg, B. Cox, D. Rust, J. Lonneman, and T. Honermann. FRONT ROW: B. Lien, J. Mueller, B. Brunk, J. Taylor, C. Neuroth, BACK ROW: J. Cyr, G. Merriam, coach, M. Rolph, K. Wolf, M. Lonneman, and K. Knips. The Jr. High season proved to be just as successful as the Sr. High's. Moving the spirit of the sport, the little Drag- ons pushed their way to the top of the seatings. Facing some of the toughest competition in the area, they defeated nearly every team in the conference. The freshman team was prepared for every competitor, many of them very tough, but they lacked the exper- ience needed to win. Despite the veiws of the score boards, the fresh- men won in many other ways. These boys are a very promising group of athletes. The 8tn graders won the Round Lake Tourney with little effort at all, it seemed. They were also runners-up in the Tri-County Tourney. Chalking up victory after victory, these mighty little Dragons brought back with them another trophy for A.H. S. 's collection. Bob Lien won the free throw with 19 out of 25.
