A.H.S. girls work play their way to the top. The AHS girls who participated in sports this year found that it wasn't all fun and games. Among the sports that the girls could take part in were track, softball, volleyball, and basketball. Many of the girls found out that there was a lot behind making a good team. Not always win- ning and achieving their goals, they fought to do the best that they could. One of the most active groups of fem- inine athletes was the members of the girls' track team. This was the second year that AHS had a gals track team and it proved to be quite a success. This year AHS started a Jr. High team and these young girls were quite successful in the season. Many of the girls also participated in GAA sports such as the volleyball tourney at Luverne. They also took part in the three basketball games witht Pipestone and Ellsworth, while the track team traveled to one tri- angular at Ellsworth and one in Adrian, placing second in both.

The AHS Tracksters did a fine job of doing their thing at the Dragon Relays, District and at the Trojan Relays in Worthington. They had two of their boys going on to the regionals from the district and both were seniors. The mighty Dragon track team did their best to out do all of the other schools in this area. They proved that they had what it takes to run, jump and throw better than many of their competitors. Coached by that fast J. Stenke, the Dragons proved that they were the fastest Dragons around.

Coached by Mr. Jim Carr the Dragons B team football players proved that despite their age and size they had the ability to win. Working hard and driving on through the lines the mighty Dragons won the majority of their games. Drive, desire and de- termination were the three D's that moved the big Dragons to top their season.
