The theme A Time For Us, combined with a Roman setting provided a romantic atmosphere for the Junior-Senior Prom held on May 1, 1970. The night started off with a banquet in the high school gym. The opening prayer was read by Mary Eickhoff. Paul Kunkel, as Jr. class president, welcomed the students. The students then enjoyed a delightful Swiss steak dinner. Following the meal Rosie Reis- dorfer thanked the Juniors on behalf of the Senior class. Bob Kunkel, adding a touch of humor, read the prophecy. The Seniors had previously drawn up a last will and testament, leaving their wordly possessions to the Juniors. This was then read by Dennis Hohn. Following the banquet the students spent the re- mainder of the evening at the East Elementary gym, dancing to the sound of the Solutions. Roman pillars, realistic murals, and a beautiful waterfall created a mood of enchantment.

VALENTINE'S QUEEN REIGNED DURING A NIGHT OF MUSIC The traditional Valentine's Ball was held this year on the evening of February 14. It highlighted a week during which students had a chosen representative from each class as a candidate for Valentine's Princess or Queen. Candidates for Princess, shown below right, were Beverly Klein, Joann Heitkamp, and Sharon Wick. Queen candi- dates, shown at middle right were Therese Fritz, Mary Lynn Eickhoff, and Pat Konz. The evening got under way with coronation during which Beverly Klein was crowned by the outgoing prin- cess, Cheryl Klooster. Mary Lynn Eickhoff received the honor of being Valentine's Queen. She was crowned by the 1969 Queen, Carol Mormann. The dance followed coronation, during which students danced to the music of the Mount Rushmore. 28
