The play began in the New England home of wealth Mrs. Still where she revealed a terrible secret dorferj. Urs. Stillman's maid, Nancy man CThelma Broesderj of her past to her son, Archy CDale Reis- Palmer CDonna Elsingj and a nosy neighbor, Amanda Sink CJudy Hansonj complicated things for her a bit. The second setting of the play was at hotel-tavern was run by a lovely youn and her younger brother, Sammy, fleroy Enningaj. Other residents of Hope Canyon who hel ed 1 th p so ve e mystery of Mrs. Stil1man's secret were Mrs. Hogan fBarbara Hieronimusj, Sadie Smith llrene Schulzl, Nlnjunn Hattie CDavid Laisj, Sheriff Pet Riley fvorris Roelofsj and Ham Sandwich CHoward Olsonb. Jacob Fuller fDonald Rusty was the suspected villain and Fetlock Jones fBi1l Madison! a timid murderer. Flint Buckner, a hard-bitten miner who got the worst of things, was Rob Thom. Four-year-old Barbara Essig became an honorary member of the class t - L o play Yatie, Vrs. Hogan's lost little girl. The play took a final amazing twist with the entrance of the fabulousl f ' y amous Sherlock Holmes CCharles marstony who was out witted b t - y ama eur detective Archy Stillman who possessed Hcertain giftsu that made him a human bloodhoundl Hope Tavern in Hope Canyon, Colorado. The g lady, Rosemary Hillyer CLinda Scheltensj Ralph Gebhard and Billy Elias were stage manager and assistant respectivelyg Grace Huisman was prompter and Cynthia Stangeland was business manager.
