'larol cave a short talk, told a few jokes, which everyone enjoyel and then introduced two of the eveninn's speakers, Mr. Olsen and Mr. Zahorsky. Mr. Olsen spoke briefly and hr. Lahorsky introduced the football players. Suspense was the key word while the candidates and audience waited for the news of the king and queen choices. Beverly and Henry were introduced and respond- ed with short speeches. Then the mysterious envelope containing the candidate choices was opened. Janet Grove was crowned homecoming Queen by Henry, and Duane Graf was crowned Kina by Beverly. The audience responded with a rollickinr ovation as the new royalty A great many expressed appreciation for the honor given them. The new King and Queen led the recessional. Next came the oonfire contributed cy the freshman. ine fire lit up led yells. the sky brillantly wfile the cheerleaders lhen the snake dance, led by Gordon ooldt, began. After the snake dance, wh cn stopped trzfyic uptown and formed circles at intersections to do cheers, came the movie at the local theater, students and alumni joined in the celebra- tion. The next night the Homecoming name and dance took place. The Adrian Dragons played Fdcerton Dutchman who outscored Adrian by S3 to l2. Ednerton was undefeated this season. Duane Graf and Morris Hoelofs scored Adr1an's two touchdowns. Howard dropped a pass to miss a touchdown. Durina the half time the king, queen and the attendants were driven once around the foot-ball field in a convertible. Irene Schulz if 3 3 L Q .', ,-, hz' 'V Le Roy Elsing Iva Del Sieve The Homecoming program on the night of October 13, started with the coronation with Janet Grove, Iva Del Sieve and Irene Schulz as candidates for queen. Duane Graf, Le Roy Elsing, and James Hoogland were candidates for king. The music for the procession was supplied by the high school band, directed by Mr. Glapa. The robe bearers-Cynthia Brickson, Sonja Quanbeck, Lowell Bruns and Bernard Mackey-who led, were followed by the prince and princess, Tim Roelofs and Shirley Hieronimusg the mistress of ceremonies,Caro1 Lohseg and the last year's king and queen, Henry Hanson and Beverly Lawrence, now Mrs. Paul Taylor. Next the high school band played nGod of Our Fathers,' and was followed by the sextette composed of Thelma Broesder, Janet Grove, Judy Hanson, 10

rs 'fe fi V Senior , , NP ln older brother tried to keep up his work as an archetect and tend to the household duties for his three younger sisters and brother in the three-act comedy, Qrother Goose, that was presented by the Adrian High fTcho'6l-Tfenlors . - The older brother, Jeff, Brother Goose,U was played by Gordon Foldt, and the younger brother, Wes, was Le Roy Elsing with Janet Grove and Varlene Weinders as the sisters, Hyacinth and Carol. Helen, the last in a long line of housekeepers, was played by Lavonne Waterman. Carol Lohse played Peggy Winkel, the young woman who stepped in and saved the situation, and Deanna Larson played Lenore Hudson whose million-dollar inheritance gave her some new ideas. Eve Mason, Whose family had just moved from the South, captured the heart of Wes. Eve was played by Frances Roemeling, and her negro maid, Sarah, was played by Carol Fpoelstra. Frances Larson played Mrs. Trimmer, a determined woman who had some of her own ideas about architecture, and Duane Graf played a truck driver who found himself in the midst of a plot set by ten-year-old Hyacinth, the little sister. with this interesting combination of characters the seniors gave three entertaining performances. Ronald Schulz and Richard Peters were stage managers with David Birkestrand, James Hoogland, Clarence Bauer, Bill Bierman, Kenneth Elsing, Tom Gunderson, Francis Lupkes, Melvin Wagner and Edward Tholen as the stage crew. Lighting was in charge of Neil Duwenhoeggerg Ilene Rust and LaVonne Waterman were prompters, and publicity was in charge of Melvin Klooster, Harley Ailts, and Gary Hokeness.
