Irene Schulz if 3 3 L Q .', ,-, hz' 'V Le Roy Elsing Iva Del Sieve The Homecoming program on the night of October 13, started with the coronation with Janet Grove, Iva Del Sieve and Irene Schulz as candidates for queen. Duane Graf, Le Roy Elsing, and James Hoogland were candidates for king. The music for the procession was supplied by the high school band, directed by Mr. Glapa. The robe bearers-Cynthia Brickson, Sonja Quanbeck, Lowell Bruns and Bernard Mackey-who led, were followed by the prince and princess, Tim Roelofs and Shirley Hieronimusg the mistress of ceremonies,Caro1 Lohseg and the last year's king and queen, Henry Hanson and Beverly Lawrence, now Mrs. Paul Taylor. Next the high school band played nGod of Our Fathers,' and was followed by the sextette composed of Thelma Broesder, Janet Grove, Judy Hanson, 10

Cynthia Stangland, Irene .chulz and Linda wcheltens who sang Lavender Blue and g5ometninr's Eotta Give . The band then played the HJe molay march , and newoy Llsinv sang Suddenly There's a Valley . 'larol cave a short talk, told a few jokes, which everyone enjoyel and then introduced two of the eveninn's speakers, Mr. Olsen and Mr. Zahorsky. Mr. Olsen spoke briefly and hr. Lahorsky introduced the football players. Suspense was the key word while the candidates and audience waited for the news of the king and queen choices. Beverly and Henry were introduced and respond- ed with short speeches. Then the mysterious envelope containing the candidate choices was opened. Janet Grove was crowned homecoming Queen by Henry, and Duane Graf was crowned Kina by Beverly. The audience responded with a rollickinr ovation as the new royalty A great many expressed appreciation for the honor given them. The new King and Queen led the recessional. Next came the oonfire contributed cy the freshman. ine fire lit up led yells. the sky brillantly wfile the cheerleaders lhen the snake dance, led by Gordon ooldt, began. After the snake dance, wh cn stopped trzfyic uptown and formed circles at intersections to do cheers, came the movie at the local theater, students and alumni joined in the celebra- tion. The next night the Homecoming name and dance took place. The Adrian Dragons played Fdcerton Dutchman who outscored Adrian by S3 to l2. Ednerton was undefeated this season. Duane Graf and Morris Hoelofs scored Adr1an's two touchdowns. Howard dropped a pass to miss a touchdown. Durina the half time the king, queen and the attendants were driven once around the foot-ball field in a convertible.
