Perfect spacial layouts, many-times-refined headlines, and meticulously wrought out copy constitute a true masterpiece in the field of journalism. This masterpiece, however, does not make for a meritable yearbook if it is not representative of the people and times it is concerned with. In the academic year 1969-70, the editorial staff of the Mound found more to work with in the way of people and times and the at-times-ex- plosive relationship contained therein, than ever before. Adrian College, like campuses all over the country, served as the laboratory for student concern not only with world affairs, but with community directed projects as well as with that ever-present search for a self-satisfying maturity. Contained in these pages is only a sample of the actions and reactions that exist in that unique atmosphere so blithely titled “College.” The most this sample can hope to do is hint at what feelings surrounded life on Adrian’s campus in the year 1970. Nonetheless, for what you were, where you were, when you weré, take a look at the Mound, 1970. THE EDITORS On the Cover A front view of Old North Hall, whose lifetime stretched from the Summer of 1859 to the Winter of 1970. The Mound, 1970 Published by Taylor Publishing Company
