His first year he played varsity football and kept himself high on the academic list. This year Al decided to take a little rest and be one of those lucky day students. Again this year Big Al is fighting for first base position on the baseball team. During his two years at Farragut, Al's rate has had its up's and down's but at the moment he is a petty officer first class. Through his eventful years here Al has managed to keep that big smile on his face. Marty was promoted to a 1P.O. this year, upon which he was soon retired to the rate of seaman. George hopes to attend col- lege in his native Kentucky and we all know he will make a great showing. HONORS- Militory-2 P.O., Merit Riband, Conduct Riband with Silver Star, l95l, '52. Intro-murals-Qualified Boat Handler, Volleyball, Tennis, Basketball, Swimming, Golf, 1951, 152. Club Activities-Binnacle Staff, Cotillion Club, Dancing Class. Cel came to us this year from Nassau, Bahamas. His easy man- ner and ready wit have endeared him to the hearts of many- especially to the female population of St. Pete. His extra- curricular activities are confined mostly to blondes, brunettes, and redheads with whom he is always entangled, but usually success- fully. On Sunday afternoons he can be found swoaping down on Farragut or chasing sea gulls over Tampa Bay, much to the regret of the C. A. A. He is also distinguished by his bull-dog tenacity when he is in quest of a new morsel of corn to amuse his messmates. His record in the classroom-in fact, his record in everything at Farragut-points clearly to a brilliant career in the future. JOHN MILLS, III Wake Forest, North Carolina llJOhnll HONORS- Oh, shucks Military-Merit Riband. intra-murals-Sailing, I 951 , '52 :rw- MARCEL JOHN JUSTIN MAURY Montague Foreshore Nassau, Bahamas lice!!! 2 Hello, are you there? ii. K John, who came here from North Carolina, is a true Southern Gentleman. Whenever there is a discussion of the Civil War, you will find him in the middle of it. His ability to argue on any subject, whether it be on sailing or bootlegging, has made him well known and liked throughout school. If you want to know why North Carolina is the best state in the union, just ask John, he will tell you. If you would care to know howto drive a school bus, he has got that square rooted too. John's true love is a small, baby blue Henry J. complete with Confederate Flag, which he constantly brags about. His ambition is to go back home to attend Wake Forest College, where he hopes to study engineer- ing. John has done well at Farragut, and we believe he will succeed in the career he enters.
