Club Activities-Cotillion Club, 1951, '52, The maiority of the organizations in this great country of ours always have a boastful Texan as an outstanding member. The Graduating Class of '52 is no different. Goodie left Texas, or the United States of Texas as he calls it, three years ago to come to Farragut. In these three years Goodie has shown his bright Texan smile iust when the corps needed some spirit. He al- ways manages to bring our spirits up at the darkest moments. This year he was the star ofthe Junior Varsity basketball team, an outstanding member ot the drill team, and a valuable player in inter-company football and softball. Goodie's ambition is the same as any good Texan's, to return to Texas. He plans to enter Texas A8.M, graduate, and then start a little cattle ranch. 66 HONORS- Military-Band, 1950, '52, First Class Petty Officer, 1952, Third Company, 1952, Farragut Mates, 1952. Dingus Butch Grimes comes to us this year from Staunton Mili- tary Academy in Virginia. The bashful boy from Horse Shoe Hole low, has many talents, among these, his most outstanding is foot- ball. This year's captain and most valuable player, he contributed his rugged line play to his previous experience of throwing the ball back home in Horse Shoe. When asked why he didn't run track this year, his reply was, shoes slow me down. Besides his ability on the athletic field, his work in the classroom distinguishes him as an outstanding contender in the cold, cruel world outside. Although Butch could have many women to his choosing, he re- mains true to his true love back in the Hollow. So lang, Butch, and good luck. 63 DOUGLAS PRESTON GRIMES Joining Rivers Farm Horse Shoe, North Carolina Butch Dingus, you could go for me
