Y. Melvin Ronnie, have the chief fix me up 3683 Early in September 1946 Melvin packed his bags, and left the concrete iungle to join the crew at Farragut. Melvin has risen a long way since his first years in the Junior School. Academic- ally, he has raised his standards greatly. In rank, Melvin first chose a slippery mountain, for after working his way up to a first class petty officer he decided to ioin the night riders and was reduced, however Big Melvin decided to wipe this off his record by working hard and becoming an Ensign and one of the leaders of the school and has proved himself worthy of this rank. Keeping up the true tradition of a sailor, he has added to his harem many girls from St. Pete. Melvin will be greatly missed by many, for since he has attended Farragut he has always been popular with everyone who has met him and all have enjoyed his good-natured attitude and wit. Wher he may go and what- ever he plans to do, there is no doubt 'he will succeed as he has done here Farragut.. j . V 1 J N 0 TE . is' i ' f--1 ' 51 lf Scif, ' hose R ANGSTADT C , . Club Activities-Cotillion Club, 1952, Bobby, a North Carolina gentleman, who entered school last September, is one of the best-liked members of the graduating class. He is always ready to help you if you need anything, from caddy cloth two seconds before formation, to a pair of slightly used socks to put in your roommate's bed. Bobby is not noisy, but he puts all he has into whatever he is doing as you can see by his 8596 average. When he leaves us we lose, but the rest of the world stands to gain, for we are sure that he will go far in many chosen fields of endeavor, So we wish you the best of luck, Bobby, at college, and in your later life.

HONORS- Militory-Drill Team, 1952 Varsity Athletics-Football, 1952, lntra-murals-Touch Football, 1951, Volleyball, 1952, Weightlifting 1952, Soft- ball, 1952, Swineniirg, 1952, Club Activities-Cotillion Club, 1952 Bert came to us in September and although quiet at first, he came through the year always advancing. Although Bert has had his share of extra duty as have many other cadets, he still ranks high on the drill field in becoming a member of the drill team. Bert speaks remarkably good English for the time he has been here, since Spanish is his native tongue, We know that Bert will keep on progressing as long as he himself wants to progress. 1-le has shown us this year that he has the capacity to do good in anything in which he participates. Good luck, Bert, and smooth sailing, E33 HONORS- DONALD P. Five years ago Farragut was honored to receive him as a new cadet from Chicago. 1-le entered the band as a drummer boy during his first year and his second year was a 1P.O. During the next two years, Don decided to take a crack at civilian life. But you can't keep a good man out so Don re- turned this year and after a hard start has made himself a fine clean record both with the school and his girl. lsn't that right, Faith? When Don leaves this year, Farragut is losing a great guy, and Faith and the Citadel are making a terrific gain. So long, Don-boy, and the greatest of luck in the future.
