Jackets lose Heartbreaker Playing a highly favored Clearwater eleven, evenly throughout the first half, the Jackets lost a real thriller 6-O. The Clearwater touchdown was :et up as a result of a blocked kick that proved very costly. For the fourth successive year rain was the Wcmadlq main feature ofthe game. In the three previous games with Clearwater Farragut was beaten very badly but this decision proved a moral victory for the team, Outstanding Farragut players were Morrison, J., in the line and Conner in the backfield. ?aa2f5a6Z Brooksville Triumphs over Farragut Making their second start of the year, the inex- perienced Jackets were beaten by Brooksville 33-6. The great reserve strength of the Brooksville team was the deciding factor in the outcome of the game. On the opening kickoff Don Schick ran 92 yards for a touchdown but from then onthe offense bogged down immensely. Brooksville went into the game highly favored and proved that fact in the outcome of the game. The Jackets fought hard and were beaten in score but not in fight. Outstanding Farragut players were Butch Grimes, Swede Carlson, and Don Schick.

Farragut Wins Upset Victory over Brandon After two straight defeats, the Blue Jackets came to life and played inspiring ball while defeating a favorite Brandon eleven by the score of 6-O. The score does not tell the actual story of the game be- cause the success of the Jackets lies in the tremendous kicking of Duane Carolyne, the passing and running Wczwzltq of Jon Fortman, and the spectacular play of Alter and Parsons at the ends. lt is impossible, however, to give all the credit to any select few for the Jackets played good, hard, and fighting ball and each member of the team deserves a great deal of credit. 74415456 Manatee Trounces Jackets After beating Brandon the previous week the Blue Jackets iourneyed to Manatee where they re- Jackets were completely outclassed by a tremen- dously favored Manatee team, but regardless of the ceived the worst defeat in their history, 67-O. The outcome they were never outfought.
