I his was done so that more mon- ey could be used for academics. A bi-level academic wing is being built on the east side of the build- ing, along with an enlarged music area. A variety of looks were popular this year. Typical SHS attire ranged anywhere from the classic jeans and a shirt to futuristic “new-wave” apparel. Hairstyles took on a unique flair. Bobs and ponytails were back, along with the greased or completely shaved look. Other styles were more extreme, such as mohawks and hair that re- sembled colors by Crayolas. “Fashions fade, style is eternal.” — Yves St. Laurent Layered clothing, with bright colors and bold patterns, was the latest look. Another fashion favorite was over-sized every- thing. Swatch watches — as many as you could fit on your arm — were trendy items as well. Shoes in every imaginable shape and color complimented any outfit.
