Although handicapped by lack of prac- tice, the boys put up a good fight only to be defeated by a 19-6 score. Adena 6 Mt. Pleasant 6 The following week Adena and Mt. Pleasant met on a wet and muddy field and battled to a 6-6 tie. The game was devoid of thrills as both teams resorted to straight football. Adena 0 Barnesville 7 Adena next met Barnesville with a squad of twelve men. Des- pite the fact that there were very few rooters for the team, Barnes- ville was held to seven points. Adena 0 St. Johns 6 The St. Johns boys from Bellaire came to Adena expecting fish on Friday, but after a hard game they considered themselves lucky to get a six point margin. Adena 6 Tiltonville 26 We went to Tiltonville and in the first few minutes of playing they scored on a fluke. The game was lost but the Adena boys fought to the final whistle. Adena 0 C14 first downs, St. Clairsville 0 Cl first downl In the St. Clairsville game our line proved a stonewall and the opposing team did not gain more than ten yards through it. Adena travelled within scoring distance three times but lacked the punch to put it over. The game ended with a scoreless tie, but the boys were encouraged by the showing they made on the defense. Adena 26 Cadiz 6 On Armistice Day, Cadiz traveled to Adena expecting an easy victory but we were too tough for them. The team worked together so well that we scored in the first quarter. Cadiz managed to get one touchdown but we came back with two more and the game end- ed 26-6 in Adena's favor. Adena 12 Smithfield 0 After defeating Cadiz the Adena team continued in its stride by winning from Smithfield the following week. Long runs and passes featured the game but the Adenians were able to cross the goal only twice. Adena 0 Dillonvale 7 Thanksgiving afternoon found Adena and Dillonvale lined up for the kick-off on Dillon's field. The first quarter was all Adena but in the second the team lost its punch. When the boys came back for the last half it seemed all their determination had left them. Dillon scored right after the quarter started and although our boys fought desperately, they could not overcome that lead. 10101011 3 1303 1031 ioicn11l10icli1ni0i4li1ni0ioi1v21l11ri:vi1vicri 510101 'Z' 101011nif11141111111030101011Di4li0Z01ci1clicl11b11l14bIl1cri4yjqpj0j0j1yjapj1pj1x11y3rj4 sifxiivjtriaxjexicxilxicricrjtnjl 0
