We sailed on rough seas from September until May, when We landed not sailing again until the next September. At each stop we had a few new sailors board our vessel to take the places of others who had de- barked. On each voyage we made, the seas became rougher but most of us braved the storms and did not desert the ship. At last, after eight years of this work we were prepared for even harder Work and rougher seas, so when we reached port in May, 1928, there were fifty who left the Elementary Ship. September, 1928 when We again met at port Adena we found that a few had decided to give up the sailor life and many from other ports -York, Harrisville and Ramsey-who were prepared to sail on The Freshmen. While on this voyage some were terrified by the huge waves-Science, Algebra and Latin-and left the ship as soon as pos- sible.
