It is rather a functional unit of instruction and a research center with many aids to learning such as periodicals, indexes, pamphlets, maps, pictures, films, filmstrips, microfilms, microcards, and sound record- ings; these, selected by members of the faculty and the library staff, have their value increased by their ready availability.
