gfaaa .Maier On a bri ht September morning in 1948 seventy alert freshmen eagerly entered their home rooms where t ey would work for the year under the guidance of Miss Wilcox and Mr Lundrigan For the leadership of our large class we elected Bob Fero president Ilene Mose vice president and Shirley Lewis sec treas Our Student Council was started this year and our representatives were Bob Fero and Ilene Mose In October we had a lively wemer roast at Bear Falls We chose Diane Coon as our attendant for the Prom Most of the year we were busy worrying about be coming Sophomores In our Sophomore year our class was divided into two homerooms with Mr Dingman and 'vlr Harrison as co advisors To preside over our minor disputes we chose Martha Hurlbut as president and Ilene Mose and Shirley Lewis again as vice president and secretary treasurer respectively Our annual outing was at Little Niagara a treacherous place to reach we decided Ilene Mose was our Junior Senior Prom attendant By this time we were beginning to feel more rke upper classmen By our Junior year our class had dwindled down to a mere fifty This number was super vised by Miss Northup and Mr Sadler Martha Hurlbut conducted the meetings while Bob Fero seconded the motions and Ilene Mose counted our money We again journeyed to Bear Falls where it was discovered we had a surplus of rolls but an unfortunate shortage of hot dogs This was the first year Juniors were allowed to have outside activities and we took advantage of this opportumty by sponsoring the Junior Hop in December Soon we realized that our Junior Senior Prom With her train of attendants mcluding Frances Stewart and Christine Allen Junior girls Martha Hurlbut was crowned May Queen as the orchestra played the theme of our Prom Blue Moon The next events on our agenda were the Class Day activities and the Junior Senior Picnic held at Eldridge Park At last our big year was right around the corner To our great dismay our Senror Class was placed in two homerooms Probably all of us in one room would have been too hard to control anyway' Mr Kreger was our advisor for the year To lead us through the hazardous Journey to the end we elected Fred Sprague president Bob Fero vice president Ilene Mose secretary and Marilyn Westbrook treasurer Our annual hayride and wemer roast was held at Dix Curtis Cabin on the Hardscrabble The teachers who attended will remember the delicate manner in which the timid girls and the bashful boys piled them on the haywagons Realizing how much money we needed for our trip we rolled up our sleeves and sponsored bakesales social hours and a Harvest Dance Our thrilling mystery play The Green Light aided our treasury considerably After mid terms we witnessed the girls of ACS hauling boys to our Sadre Hawkins Dance Seniors portraying the comic strtpcharacters were Eleanor Olinger as Daisy Mae Bill Wright as L1 1 Abner Bob Fero as Pappy Yokum and Marilyn Westbrook as Mammy Yokum As we conclude this history of the Class of 52 our trip to New York City 15 only days away It will not be long before our graduation from Addison Central Our Alma Mater has certainly given us many pleasant memories to carry with us in the years ahead 19 O . 1 . - ' . 1 1 ' ' . 1 l - ' I - I ' ' , .
