CLASS HISTORY The year of 1947, we as a class, entered Adams High School. Success—passing through the first eight grades, we found ourselves awaiting high school with great anticipation. Our freshman year consisted of forty-two students, including three new students: Penny Genga, Beverly Larrison and William Baum. That year we elected Joanne DeMarse as our president with Edward Smithler as Vice President, Patricia Cushing as Secretary and James Marti as Treasurer. Coach Pate was our advisor. At the end of our freshman year we lost Mary Jane Britton, Barbara Hines, Patrick Wilder, Bernard Pooler, Stewart McAnulty, Betty Pecor and William Baum. Upon entering our sophomore year we consisted of forty-one students. Keith Weal was elected President, Joanne DeMarse as Vice President, Henry Busier as Secretary and Judith Jones as Treasurer. Again Coach Pate was our advisor. We were thrilled to be able to order our class rings. Monica Vorce, David Hatcliff, Keitha Smith, Anna May Pitkin joined our class, but we lost Lyn Simmons, James Ebdon, Joan Overton and Claudia Tamblin. In our junior year we gained Donald Bockman, Ronald Widrick, Truman Gleason and Stewart McAnulty. We presented our Junior Play, Aunt Kathy's Cat under the direction of Mrs. Harmon, which was quite successful. Harry Spicer's Orchestra played for our Junior Prom which was said to be one of the best proms ever put on. Keith Weal was elected President, Joanne DeMarse as Vice President, Patricia Cushing as Secretary, and James Marti as Treasurer. Miss Reed was our advisor. In the fall of 1959, we entered school as full-fledged seniors. In our final and most important year, we lost Francis Dealing, Beverly Larrison, Hazel Wilson, Stewart McAnulty, Truman Gleason and gained Linda Sinclair and Jeanne Dennison who later moved. Bruce Thomas was elected President: Keith Weal, Vice President: Judith Jones, Secretary: and Barbara Waite, Treasurer. In October, we planned our senior play, His Name was Aunt Nellie under the direction of Mrs. Howard, our class advisor. The play proved successful as well as profitable. To help increase our treas- ury, we held several record hops. 14
