Success—passing through the first eight grades, we found ourselves awaiting high school with great anticipation. Our freshman year consisted of forty-two students, including three new students: Penny Genga, Beverly Larrison and William Baum. That year we elected Joanne DeMarse as our president with Edward Smithler as Vice President, Patricia Cushing as Secretary and James Marti as Treasurer. Coach Pate was our advisor. At the end of our freshman year we lost Mary Jane Britton, Barbara Hines, Patrick Wilder, Bernard Pooler, Stewart McAnulty, Betty Pecor and William Baum. Upon entering our sophomore year we consisted of forty-one students. Keith Weal was elected President, Joanne DeMarse as Vice President, Henry Busier as Secretary and Judith Jones as Treasurer. Again Coach Pate was our advisor. We were thrilled to be able to order our class rings. Monica Vorce, David Hatcliff, Keitha Smith, Anna May Pitkin joined our class, but we lost Lyn Simmons, James Ebdon, Joan Overton and Claudia Tamblin. In our junior year we gained Donald Bockman, Ronald Widrick, Truman Gleason and Stewart McAnulty. We presented our Junior Play, Aunt Kathy's Cat under the direction of Mrs. Harmon, which was quite successful. Harry Spicer's Orchestra played for our Junior Prom which was said to be one of the best proms ever put on. Keith Weal was elected President, Joanne DeMarse as Vice President, Patricia Cushing as Secretary, and James Marti as Treasurer. Miss Reed was our advisor. In the fall of 1959, we entered school as full-fledged seniors. In our final and most important year, we lost Francis Dealing, Beverly Larrison, Hazel Wilson, Stewart McAnulty, Truman Gleason and gained Linda Sinclair and Jeanne Dennison who later moved. Bruce Thomas was elected President: Keith Weal, Vice President: Judith Jones, Secretary: and Barbara Waite, Treasurer. In October, we planned our senior play, His Name was Aunt Nellie under the direction of Mrs. Howard, our class advisor. The play proved successful as well as profitable. To help increase our treas- ury, we held several record hops. 14 PROPHECY June 27, 1970 Dear Diary, Tonight I attended a reunion of the I960 graduating class of Adams High School. Although many of them weren't there, I found out many interesting things about them. Keitha Smith, noted for her portrayals as a negro maid, is now a famous broadway star. Keitha attributes her success to the practice she received at A.H.S. Donald Bockman is now living in Texas where he and his wife, the former Kathy Lantier, have established a multi-million dollar oil refinery. Jer y Cool, who in high school, was known as the mad chemist, finally succeeded in blowing up A.H.S. and is now living at the Ogdensburg State Institution. Ronald Widrick, president of the Very Lonely Hearts Club of Lorraine, has not yet trapped any foolish female. Pam Holley is now President of the Maple Grove W.C.T.U.—Alcoholics Anonymous Division. We hear she is having a wonderful time trying to clean up the town. Penny Genga, recently back from Rome, Italy, has established a multi-million dollar restaurant known as, Penny's Pizza Palace,” located at the former Marco's. Bob Wade has taken over the job of Industrial Arts teacher at A.H.S. Pat Cushing is now known by all of her friends as the chief soda jerk on the new jet transatlantic flight. Bob Whitehead is now famously known as a part of the Syracuse Nats. Could Bob have gotten his experience from his basketball days at A.H.S.? Judy Jones is now the attendant at the Saranac Lake ski lift. After getting experi- ence watching A.H.S. Skiers slide on the school hill. Henry Busier, our old classmate, is now nationally known for his drumming per- formances on the Lawrence Welk Show. Bill Babcock is now the game warden from the Adams district. David Hatcliff has recently invented a new rifle called the, Susie Special. Dolores Warren is now head nurse at Bellevue Hospital, in New York City. Joan Pooler has taken over Mrs. Crumb's position as Home Ec. teacher at A.H.S. Ronald Sloan and Jim Marti are now working in their combined labs. Both boys are secretly trying to change each other into the opposite sex. At last report, they were both in for a big surprise. PROPHECY (Continued) Carole Overton is finally anticipating marriage. Men are flocking to her with thoughts of marriage to her money, and a gambling hall in downtown Redfield. Julie Parker, now Mrs. Omar Davis, is running a nursery school. Half of the students in it are her own. Phyllis Martzloff has started her beauty shop in Worth Center. She is making a small fortune on her unsuccessful beauty treatments. Brenda Delano has joined the Mounted Police and has gladly accepted the motto, one way or another, we always get our man. Philip Maitland is now emcee on the radio-television show, Bread of the City, (formerly Toast of the Town.) Linda Sinclair has graduated from a New York City modeling school and is now the famous Wheaties girl. Ruth Berry, following Linda's example of eating Wheaties, has grown to 6'4 and plays basketball with the Texas Cowgirls. Daryl Graves, now in Alaska with her husband, has managed to keep the polar bears remarkably white due to her high school experience with peroxide. Monica Vorce, Now Mrs. Robert Fulmer, is continuing her work as typist in Mr. Scholtz's office. She has a lot of little typists to help her. Bruce Thomas now runs his own feed store in the Siberian wastelands. Barb Waite is still trying to get her mathematics degree by continuing her studies in her father's bakery by counting donuts. Joanne DeMarse, after going through dental school and learninq about teeth, has formulated a new substance called Garnet Gargle. Eddie Smithler, who usually spent his spare time hunting, got most of his game near Belleville. He now has many little hunters. Pat Pooler couldn't bear to leave her seat in Mrs. Bechtel's room so she has taken up the position of her assistant. Albert Peyton, who is considered one of the best hunters of his time is now nick- named the Great White Hunter and makes his home with the natives of Africa. Anna May Pitkin now owns a controlling interest in the, 9 Maples. Keith Weal, known as Irv in high school is now known as Admiral Irving Weal at the Naval Academy. And so, dear Diary, I close, quite amazed at the way the class of I960 met with the ways of the world. 16 LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT We, the seniors of the class of I960, in order to form a better student body, establish justice, insure student tranquility, provide for the student's defense, promote th student's welfare, and secure the blessings of the faculty for ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this last will and testament for the student body of Adams High School.
