ACTIVITIES TRACK The Adams High School Track Team of 1954 are to be congratulated on their fine showring in the three meets in which they took part. They competed against Lowville Academy in a Dual Meet at Lowville. They participated in the Section III Relay Carnival, Section III 7rack and Field, both held at Liverpool, and the Oswego Jefferson League Meet held at Mannsville-Manor Central School. The boys lost the meet at Lowville, 54 to 53. In the Section III Relay Carnival, a group consisting of Nelson Howard, Richard Heald, Robert Miller and Bill LaComb competed in the 440 and 880 Relays and placed second in both. Adams won the Oswego-Jefferson League Meet scoring 49 2 points. New records were set by Nelson Howard in the 100 yard dash: Pete Larkin, in the 440: Bill LaComb in the 880: Ralph Cook, in the Shot Put. and Richard Heald tied the 220 record. In the Section III I rack and Field Meet, Nelson Howard placed second in the broad jump and third in the 100 yard dash. Richard Heald placed second in the 220 yard dash; Bill LaComb placed third in the 880 yard run. The following boys participated. Names in bold face type were awarded Varsity Letters: all others received J. V. awards.
