SALUTE TO MR. SWANSON As long as l live l shall always be myself ----- and no other, just me. Hal Swanson was born in Denver in 1937. At the age of 7 he moved to the Adams City area with his parents onto a 40 acre farm on Memory Lane. He began his first year of high school at Adams City High in the year 1952. Hal was elected as a delegate to Boys State, was elected secretary of his junior Class and vice -president of his Senior Class. He was on the baseball and swimming teams and was a member of Pep-Band, Key Club, FTA and A-Club. In 1955 Hal graduated from Adams City High and took his first big step into the world, the world of college life at the University of Denver. While at college in 1958, Hal met his future wife, Pat Gardner. In the following year, 1959, Hal received his B. A. degree to teach History at Adams City High, and has in the past 12 years, given himself unstintinglv to the work of teaching History and Photography, sponsoring the yearbook and coaching the cross country team. He is also Chairman of the Social Studies Department. Hal and his wife Pat are presently living in Arvada, and are proud parents of 3 boys: Dwayne, age 10, Hal, age 6, and Greg, age 3. If we could see Mr. Swanson at home we might see him with his pet dog, cat and hamster sitting in a 1929, 2-door sedan. The sedan is one of Mr. Swanson's many hobbies. He is also a member of the Model-A Ford club, and is interested in Colorado's old ghost towns, working with photography, and working with wood. Mr. Swanson, the 1971 Eagle salutes you! fin.

In Merida the boys play soccer instead of football. fm Ketty Molina Ketty Molina, a senior, comes from a family of 12 in Guayaquil, Ecuador. This is her first time abroad, and she wishes she could Stay longer than she will be here at Adams City High. Ketty was selected to come to the U.
