Schools are made up of many sounds. Halls contain the sounds of lockers slamming and friends discussing their assignments. Teachers lecturing fills the air. You hear chalk scratching on the board as mathe - matics students work a problem. There is the sound of a panel discussion of current events. Physical education classes have the sound of students relaxing. This year brought new sounds to Adams Central. These were the steady whir of air conditioners and the scraping of the new movable walls being shoved around to pro¬ vide for different class sizes . After-school activities also added their sounds. Students and fans alike roared with excitement and sobbed with grief at ballgames. Music echoed through the school after the games as students flocked to the sock hops. After-school also brought the sound of clubs meeting and bands and athletes practicing. These are The Sounds of Central.
