Government Learns of Now Government Government students learned the many functions of the govern¬ ment. While learning this, they learned the cabinet members and learned the path a bill follows to become a law. Also much time was spent on a term paper. History Students Learn of Past The new lecture area provides comfortable seats for the students. How about one for Mr. Green? Mr. Hilbert used many different methods for making history come alive this year. Through visiting speakers, slides and films, weekly reports on outside reading, and of course, tests, students gained an awareness of world and local events of the past and present. U.S . History and World History classes concentrated their efforts on learning to link the events of the past with the policies and events of today ' s world. The famous Tom Garwood records another of his hit records. 16

English English classes this year learned more about grammar and litera¬ ture, as well as about speaking before a group. Teachers kept stu¬ dents busy by assigning themes, grammar exercises, speeches, and stories throughout the year. In addition, skits and plays were acted out in class, while some students worked on I.S. getting a break from the usual classroom routine. Foreign Languages New labs at Adams Central enabled foreign language students to be¬ come more proficient in speaking their adopted language, just as grammar drills aided in writing them better. Under the guid¬ ance of Miss Williamson and Mrs. Banks, students learned more not only about the languages of Spain and France, but also about the history and cultures of these nations .
