Jim Bilderback proves to Miss Beavers and Joy Yoder in geometry class that line CD is parallel to line AB. Alice Steiner tells Ronnie Zimmer¬ man, Joe Cancilla, and Barbara Carver how she got the answer to her first year algebra problem. Theorems, Equations Wrestle Mental Aptitudes Directed by Amzie Miller and Miss Lucile Beavers, the freshman class chose either algebra or general mathematics. Miss Beavers led the sophomores through a very interesting course in geometry. Advanced algebra, a required course for college math majors, was offered to interested juniors and seniors. Olin Moeschberger from the advanced algebra class agrees that making the x ' s and y ' s add up is not always easy. Miss Beavers, teacher, checks a piece of work which he has just finished. 17
