The crowning of the king and queen highlighted the A. C. -Berne ball game. Candidates for the crown paraded across the gym floor under the light of a spotlight ... in dark surroundings. The crowning took place on the stage decorated with a spruce-covered arbor and red poinsettias. The first eight grades helped lighten the holi¬ day season when they presented the P.T.A. Christ¬ mas program. The Sunshine sweetheart banquet was held Valentines Day in the school cafeteria. On this occasion girls invited their dates and dressed for¬ mally. Entertainment was provided by Miss Irene Myers who has traveled all over the world. In the grade school Christmas program some of the students decorate a large Christmas card (above) and also worship the Christ Child (below). High with Centralites Sunshine girls and their dates attend the Sun¬ shine sweetheart banquet held Valentines Day in the school cafeteria. The head table--Carol Heller, Glen Stucky,

Mrs. Stucky, Reggie Welch, Duane Arnold, and Rosalyn Mishler watch as Carmen Quinones translates English words to Latin. Latin and English Provide Many Centralites enrolled in English and Latin this year. Latin students, under the instruction of Mrs. Stucky, enjoyed many interesting discussions. Translating held new interests for each mem¬ ber of the class. Mr. Sprunger ' s English Class studied ex¬ pression through writing, sentence structure, and vocabulary. Mr. Sprunger, Mr. Shoup, and Miss Beavers taught English 9, 10, and 11 respectively. Mr, Sprunger shows Jerry Gerber the correct way to spell a word. Marvin Mann asks Mr. Sprunger a question about verb usage. Susan Helmrich, Judy Bercot, and Dennis Arnold profit from his answer. 10
