Dear Reader, We of the Chieftain Staff who are about to depart as graduates of 1961 sincerely hope that in future years this issue of the Chieftain will be a cherished memento of happy years at Adair County High School--a reminder of favorite classmates and of the wonderful hours outside the classroom. For most of us, we have been here for our four years of high school. Now we must leave and step out to face a future that is very uncertain. In whatever degree of success or failure we may find ourselves in years to come, if a glance at these pages will lighten our labors-if only for asingle moment- we deem our yearbook worth while. Each of the students here at ACHS had a part in making this school year one to be remembered. Each event will be remembered; some were happy occasions, and others sad, but they are made a part of our school career- a time never to be forgot- ten. In closing we would like to express our appreciation and give recognition to the members of the class of 1961, our faculty, Superintendent John Dunbar, Adair County Board of Education, and others that have made possible our fine high school and the Chieftain. Sincerely, David Rosenbaum Mary Jane Young Editor Assistant Editor Ā©edicatitui We, the class of 1961, dedicate this Chieftain to our fine sponsors. In this small way, we want to thank you for your patience and untiring efforts in helping us during our high school days here at the Adair County High to become worthwhile citizens. Our gratitude can never be fully expressed- only hoping we will never be a disappointment to you.
