We of THE CHIEFTAIN staff who are about to depart as graduates of 1958 sincerely hope that in future years this issue of THE CHIEFTAIN will be a cherished memento of happy years at Adair County High School; a reminder of favorite classmates and of the wonderful hours out- side the classroom. Annual Staff Sessions -- The Arrow — Senior Play -- Locker Assignments — Class Night Program -- Banquets -- Basketball Victories -- Ag Trips -- Soliciting Ads -- Chapel Programs — Getting Diplomas — the many other events that made our high school days fly fast on the wings of time. For most of us, we have been students here four years. And now, though hesitantly, we must leave by the open door and step out confidently to face a future that is very uncertain. But in whatever degree of success or failure we may find ourselves in years to come, if a glance at these pages will lighten our labors and ease our pains — if only for a moment — we deem 3 our yearbook work worth-while.

We, the class of 1958, with all pride and sincerity, hereby dedicate this edition of THE CHIEFTAIN to our sponsors, Mr. Marion Collins, Miss Mary Lucy Lowe, Mr. Fred Troutman, and Mrs. Vevia Walker, whose sacrifice, guidance, and toil have enabled us to attain our first pinnacle of success. As you turn the pages of this yearbook, we hope it brings to mind the many pleasant mem- ories of our past years at schooL
