'he Best of '86 Yoshifumi Yamamoto, otherwise known to Ada High School as KC is from Nora, Japan. It is a very historic city, he says. There are many temples and many foreigners visit my city. He respects both of his parents as well as his grandfather, who means alot to him. Two brothers round out his family. KC plays all types of sports back home, such as volleyball, baseball, soccer and ping-pong. His favorite classes include: chemistry, typing, and calculus. KC's favorite teachers are Mr. Lusk, Mr. Hay and Mr. Me For-land. Hamburgers, fried chicken and corn are his favorite American foods, and his favorite place back home is — home. Marleen Hogeboom, too, is a new face at Ada, she is from Oos-terbeck, Holland. When asked about her first impression of the U.S., Marleen paused for a moment then replied, The number of cars at the airport. She says the U.S. is different from Holland in many ways, including school. In Holland they have no homework, no lockers, and no individual desks. Marleen's favorite class at Ada is Art Crafts, and her favorite teacher is Mrs. Sleeseman. Her favorite foods include pizza and french fries. When asked to sum up her outlook of the U.S. in one sentence, she replied, I think America is nice country, but if you are young, you can live better in Holland. Philip S.
