“The next day Pamela and I left Ada and flew to Hollywood to question members of the class who lived in that area. We located TOM SMELSER on the set of his new TV detective show, TERRIBLE TOM. JEAN STOBER was doing the commercials for the show, and also on the set were JOYCE HAUENSTEIN, CBS's fascinating choreographer, CHARLOTTE AUSTIN, beauty counselor of the stars, and JUDY WAGNER, world's leading dress designer, who is responsible for the revival of the bustle. We called on Hollywood's hostess with the mostest, JOY WICKENDEN, who invited us to hear the QUEENSTON TRIO, composed of those rages of the music world, JARILYN STOLL, SUE WYSS, and PAM SHAD LEY. Their appearance at the Hollywood Bowl was a phenomenal success. From California we hopped to Hawaii where the largest missile station of the United States is located and interviewed DR. THOMAS G. SHANKS and DR. GARY McCOOL, who have had such spectacular success with Project XZ, which is a missile which will destroy the missile which is supposed to destroy the original missile. At the University of Hawaii we talked to DR. DON NICHOLS, head of the mathematics department, his charming wife LONNIE, and their daughter who had just won the Miss Universe beauty contest. Dr. Don had just completed the amazing task of proving that, contrary to popular belief, all circles are NOT rousid. They told us that PAULA STOVE was head of the education department at the university, and that famous novelist DAWN DARLINGTON lived on a distant island with her drug magnate husband. None had left the islands for months so we cleared them. Spending a lazy day on the beach at Waikiki we moved our investigation via newspapers to the members of the Class of 1960 in the sports' world. DENNIS ANSPACH, head football coach at Massillon High School whose teams showed a record of 50 straight victories; VICKIE BENNETT, world champion Olympic figure skater; JUDY YINGER, the nation's leading woman bowler; and BUD DOWNING, the champion yo-yoer of the world, were all checked. From Hawaii we traveled to New York and Washington, D. C. In New York we were able to eliminate from our list of suspects the following: PATTY NELSON, a professional model for fashion magazines; CINDY WARREN and MARLENE CLAPPER, both secretaries of their husbands who are successful Wall Street brokers; and SHIRLEY ELWOOD, drummer for a popular jazz band. In the nation's capitol were BERNICE WEBB and LILEA PIFER, nurses for famous patients at Walter Reed Army Hospital; PEGGY SIZEMORE and RUTH ANN DEARTH, owners of a Charles-of-the-Ritz beauty bar; and JOAN CONLEY, head librarian at the Library of Congress. We traveled across the Potomac to the Pentagon and visited Secretary of the Navy ROBERT MOLONEY and his assistant Lt. Commander COLEEN GUDAKUNST. Also at the Pentagon was Rear Admiral DAVID FLEMING with his top secretary, BARBARA GILBERT. Our time was passing quickly and we were still without clues. Three people were still on our list, but we were unable to contact them as JON URICH was last reported serving as a missionary in the darkest part of Africa; JUANITA DEARTH was at her secretarial duties at the American Embassy in Moscow; and RICHARD COOK was somewhere on a second tour of the globe trying to solve the social problems of the world. Having completed the check on all members of the Class of 1960, we returned to Ada with our report. After going through all the information we had recorded, we could positively not connect anyone with the death of our former teacher; however, we remembered that Mrs. Felt had the peculiar habit of opening the windows of her classroom on even the coldest days, thus assuring the alert attention of her students. A check with the doctor verified our suspicions. Mrs. Felt had died of pneumonia -- a draft from the open window had won. Report submitted by: RODGERS SEEKS President Secretary
