Any Senior who has such an interest may join the local group. The purpose of the group is two-fold. 1. To interest young people in the teaching profession as a career and 2., to help those who have decided to go into the field to learn more a- bout the work of a teacher. FTA members are given the chance to student teach in the grade school or help the high school, but because of the tight schedule ofmost of the members, it has been difficulttowork in any student tea ching. Only two or three meetings were held this year as the organization is new, but the group was fortunate enough to attend a work-shop at Moorhead State College. Q4 -'L C 44,0 ,Ax The Future Homemakers ofAmerica is one of the most worth-while organizations for girls in high school. It teaches them many important ideas which will be used by them and to their advantage in their. later life. They realize that to be a good wife and mother takes just as much training as any other profession and they are preparing for this life in an excellent way. The high-lightofthe year for the local chap- ter wasthe serving of a dinner for the boys of the local Future Farmers of America organization. This was a huge success, the boys said! Later in the year, two representatives were sent from the chapter attended the State FHA Convention at the Lemington Hotel in Minneapolis. Here the girls leamed many useful things and the chapter has tried to apply them in their work ever since. The girls had a busy, and we are sure, a very educational year.
