CLASS I-HSTCDRY TWELVE YEARS IN RETROSPECT In the spring of IQQQ twenty five brave children including Robert Bang William Faragher Leona Jacobson Richard Landsverk Faye Lohmier Paul Maltrud DeLoris Olson and Joe Roesch decided to leave home and enter kindergarten Did we ever feel proud marching off to school that first morning' We brought rugs along on which to take a nap when we became sleepy from sitting still After fooling around for a whole spring we were promoted to first grade where Ronald Nighten gale Lilly Ann Iverson and Marwood Moe joined us Here the instinct for making noise was given full outlet by our first grade band We went into business by starting a grocery store Miss Bell bestowed her affections on all of us in the second grade She gave us oranges for doing errands for her That year we made our first stage appearance in Land of Dreams Come True operetta Four more joined us in the third grade They were Jovinae Rasmussen Vivian Kroshus Alice Larson and Arlie Askelson In this grade we started playing post office Dont get the wrong idea We sold stamps Joe Books wandered into our class in the fourth grade Two remembrances of this grade are vivid sitting on the floor in the front of the class and the leaving of Mrs Peterson When we came back for our fifth grade we found four new classmates who were Duane Fournier Marlene Habedank Curtis Lee and Jerome Rage We had to chew hot pepper if we got caught chew ing gum We were a scared bunch the day we had to give our declamations in front of the class Miss Brurud put our marbles in her turtle bowl and Bobby gave us lollipop valentines Dale Bjorem Janis Anderson and Helen Hagen decided to try to bear with us the rest of their operetta Liberty Land In the seventh grade we lost our way often the first weeks but we soon got acquainted Myron Adkins was a newcomer With the help of Cleone Eklund John Anthony and Donald Wagner we enjoyed our eighth grade year A few of us got caught writing notes to each other For entertainment we had a scavenger hunt and a picnic Eight more Verona Vilmo Cleone Luchau June Berglind Leona Jacobson Lorraine Hekman James Bartz and Robert Voje joined us in the ninth grade to help us enjoy those High School parties We wore out our shoes marching and dancing for Mrs Kling We enjoyed taking part in declam cheerleading and basketball At last we entered Senior high The roads really suffered when we gathered wood for our Sopho more bonfire We won the decoration honors that year for the interclass tournament The ten with high est marks served for the Junior prom Deloris Rinerson decided to finish out her high school days with us so joined the class in our jun ior year Remember our record breaking float on which we won first prize? This was a winning year for us We won the Interclass tournament and decorations prize A hilarious time was had by those in the Junior class play during the preparation and presentation of The Real McCoy The weather dampened our spirits in preparing for the prom but our Rainbow Theme worked out all right SENIORSI We made the grade We presented Redblooded Royalty from Arkansas as our play We kept busy putting out the paper trying to pass Eid s tests and getttng the annual ready We ordered our announcements sent them out and graduated! So ends this brief sketch of twelve happy and busy years in the good old Ada school 18 school days, We kept getting into trouble, The girls were scolded for using lipstick. We gave our last
