The season opened with the defeat of the Hendrum Huskies and closed with a vic- tory over the Fertile Falcons on homecoming day, October 31: thus Winning the conference football trophy. This is the first championship for the Vikings in the recently organized Wild Rice Valley conference. The homecoming game end- ed the football careers of five senior lettermen: Noel Haaland, Robert Wichern, Kenneth Lar- sen, Virgil Petting, and Art Olson. Not pictured: Ronald Baker, End.

Kenny, Duan The Ada track team traveled to Bemidji to participate in the Beaver relays on May second, where they won second place with twenty-six points. On May eighth at the Fertile Invitational meet, Ada took first with seventy-three points. The team placed first in seven events. The District 30 track and field meet was held at Bemidji on May sixteenth. Ada's point winners were Delmar Benesh, Noel Haaland, Ronald Baker, Dwain Ness, Graydon Storms, Ronald Rasmussen, and Eugene lackson. Ada won second Track llaaland over the bar. Ben and Dwain flying liigli. Dash-man Delmar. District track meet at Beniidi. 1 UN place with forty-eight and a half points. On May twenty-third the regional track meet was held at Bemidji, where Ada won twelfth place with four points. Point winners were Delmar Benesh and the relay team. t P Page 25
