The Viking concert and marching band made considerable progress toward becoming an efficient, smooth running organiza- tion this year. There are forty-six members in the band, three of which will be graduated this spring. Notable among additions to tho hand this year are a set of chimes, a baritone saxophone, and a CI :-saxophone. lt is expected that a number of new players from tho twontyfeight piece beginners band will be added to the comfort band, Public appearances this year included: the home- coming parade, Christmas concert, the annual Booster concert in f obruary, an exchange concert with Crookston high school, all tho home basketball games, the April Spring concert, Land Q' Lakes Vfroamory meeting, the district and regional contest loiitivalzs, and commencement exercises. Engagements for the sumnior include the Norman County fair, the North Dakota State lair, and :several others as yet unannounced. Of great importance lu the wcellare of the band this year was the formation of the Band 4 Parents: Klub.
