Welcome to Acme-Delco! The High School added four new teachers to its staff and one new program to its curricular for the 1981-82 school year. The new teachers were Gary Randell Battle, Randell Darrell Cole- man, Lawrence Carr Mitchell, and Ms. Jessie Lee Johnson, who was the instructor of the new migrant education program. Mr. Battle, a former resident of Grifton, North Carolina, graduated from Fayetteville State University with a major in health and physical science. Battle was assistant coach for the varsity and junior varsity football teams. He also coached varsi- ty basketball later in the year. . Mr. Coleman graduated from West Columbus High School and completed his freshman and sophomore years at South- eastern Community College. He then transferred to North Carolina State where he graduated with a major in agriculture. He taught classes in agriculture and forestry. Ms. Johnson, a graduate of Hallsboro High School, also completed the college transfer program at Southeastern. She majored in elementary education at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Ms. Johnson, a first year teacher, worked in the Supplementary Skills Program with students who had migrated into the Acme-Delco area over the last six years. Mr. Mitchell, a graduate of Richmond County High School, continued his studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he graduated in l979 with a Bachelor of Music Education degree.
