SCIENCE The Science department is student-centered and is thus structured to have appeal, variety, value, flexibility and special projects to satisfy the needs of students enrolled within an instructional program that provides incentives and motivates the students to achieve more than minimum requirements. Science education assists students in acquiring an altitude of open-mindedness and in accepting changes which occur in scientific research. Finally, it gives the students a greater awareness and appreciation of themselves, their environment, and its resources. TOP RIGHT: Mrs. Graham shows the fine art of science. Lennon The eighth grade social studies classes submitted work for The Daughters of the American Revolution essay contest. Twenty students won a trip to Sportsworld and six were sent on for county wide competition. The essays were on famous Americans born in February and had to be six hundred to one thousand words long.
