They played the Yarnaby Tigers on the Aohille court, the game was given to Achille, because Yarnaby would not finish it Then they met the Wood ville girls with the de termination to win -They had played Wbodville three games and Wbodville had beaten them two out of the three, so they were deter mined to beat them, and d by a score of en points the scores being 15 25 Then came the nDistriot lournamentn which they fore tyring very hard to win They drew Kemp to play Kemp was proud to draw Achille still Achillo was determined to win, so they played with that determination and wom by eight points score was 21 29 we want t congratulate Gloria Bess on her fine scoring She made 24 points out of 29 we want to congratu late the others, also, for they really played ball After defeating Kemp, they played Cobb The game was hard fought and the last few minutes, when Cobb throw in those field goals, which defeated Achille by two points This year the girls lose Virginia, Clovis, Betty Jane, and Lou Ella, but they gain the eighth grad ers. Once again, we want to co ratulate the girls shi 'Human' eww- ter next year. BOYSe T BASKETBALL The boyfs played Mead February 27, and were de- feated, by a small score They played Bennington in the tournament March l Every one that saw that game believed it was the best game the boy's had ever played this year They lost by a score of 6 points. The basketball season has come to a close for the year of 1939 40 The boys wish to thank the faculty and their fans for the fine cooperation that they have received eases BOYS BASKQTBALQ Our grade oys wen to Bokchita and brought home the cup First they played Yuba, the scores were ten to two In the second game they played Bokchita, and the scores were thirteen and nineteen Next they play ed Buffalo, the scores were fourteen and fifteen They won over Blue with a win ning score of seven to eight and Calvin Hullum, Eugene Connelly, Anaziah Jeffer son, Bob Lemon, Billy Ray Grimes, Billy Biggerstaff, lartin Love, and Junior Ladd we are proud of the boys and hope they win in the tournament we are hav ing here lridqy INTRAJAURAL The Student Count amwmwes Umtthe hmx- mural activities will s - gin on March ll.
