There was Trigonometry, E E a mighty demon which lurked in darkness, and European History, the fearful marsh- E E stalker. rOver the misty moor came College Algebrag striding, he bore down us. E Q Battle-grim, we took up our pencils and text-hooks. E C 1 I I 5 John Caldwell was Chieftain of the Freshmeng his courage was known to many, E E his valor and wisdom. VVith him we did many deeds of glory, vanquished the deadly E I foe, and passed triumphantly into the Land of the Sophomore.
