w,,,w The Academy of Our Lady, located in downtown Peoria, began as a select boarding school for girls. In l874 it moved to its present site near the Cathedral of St, Mary. The first registration of 80 students has now multiplied to an enrollment of nearly 800 girls. Esteem for the Sisters of Saint Ioseph and for their work is truly ascending to new heights among reliae ious and civic leaders throughout the area as well as among their own Alumnae. In the past few years many changes and new contributions and additions have been made at the Academy. Among them are language lab, two new biology labs, remodeled foods lab and chemistry lab, a new business machines room, a library addition, and others. The Academy students have risen to a new knowledge and appreciation of life and of the future through the unfailing efforts of the' Sisters, who likewise, have mounted the stairway to satisfaction and happiness. rf
