we dedicate The Academe Staff of 1980 proudly dedicates this sixtieth volume to three teachers who are retiring this year Miss Rila Russell. Miss Margaret McMahon, and Mr. Leo Harkins. Together these three educators have given ninety-seven years of unselfish service to Academy High School. Miss Russell has taught algebra, geometry (plane and solid), and trigonometry on all levels for thirty-five years, was advisor to the ACADfcMt from 1947-1954. and has served on the National Honor Society Committee. Heading the Business Department. Miss McMahon has taught typing, stenography, office practice, and mimeo shop for thirty-three years. Coming to Academyin 1952, Mr. Harkins has taught biology, served as Athletic Director for twenty years, and coached Track. JV Football, and Girls' Basketball. These teachers have been models of devotion to Academy, performing innumerable favors, sacrifices, and kindnesses; dispensing advice and counseling-, and inspiring both students and faculty with their exemplary example.
