seniors trek to canada Students enrolled in Language Arts classes studied and reviewed the skills required in effective speech and writing. A study of classical and con- temporary genres acquainted stu- dents with the best in literature. Some teachers taught traditional courses, others opted for non-graded. Ad- vanced Placement students, com- pleting the equivalent of Freshman College English, either registered with Gannon or took the A.P. test to ac- quire six college credits. A.P. students travelled in May to the Stratford Festi- val Theater, Stratford, Ontario, Can- ada, to view Shakespeare's Tempest. Literature of the Bible and the Koran provided Religious Literature classes with a base for studying religions of the West. Speech students drew upon their knowledge in all subjects to pre- pare and deliver speeches before their peer group audience. Assisting school doctors, in giving junior physi- cals, she also performed her yearly duty of checking students' heights, weights, and eyesight. A very impor- tant service included preparation of a list of students who had physical ail- ments or handicaps that bore watch- ing in the classroom. Mrs. DeLuca and Mrs. Brenoel wel- comed to the library students who wished to take advantage of helpful information and enjoy the up-tp-date reference material that made our li- brary not only a pleasant reading asy- lum but also a valuable educational resource center. The addition of new books and magazines enhanced the selection of articles available for both students and faculty.
