Class Prophecy As I started out of school lrfe rnto ltfe s school I was moseyrng down the long crooked road when all at once ll occurred to me that maybe I would meet some of the class of 52 So wrth my flngers crossed and a hopeful heart I kept trodxng along My wrsh was soon fulftlled for I saw Douglas Pappas on a soap box on the corner rn Chtcago blabber 1ng away To my surprtse he was telllng the people to vote for Henry Parsons for the next Prestdent I heard an atrplane go over and Douglas stopped campalgmng long enough to tell me that Margre Staudt was the A1rl1ne stewardess One quallfrcatron was to be unmarrred One mght I decrded to go to the Stork Club I was very much surprrsed to see Mary ,lane Ktrch dorng a hula dance I dectded to wart and see her perform once then guess who came to sell me some crgar ettes but Marllyn Hunton She told me that she and Bob Rttzdorf were gomg to start a radro program He was to be a second KOOK Ranger I wlshed them luck and left The next day I walked down the street and saw a b1ll board that sard If your speech ts bad come to Mary Lou Carstens Publ1cSpeak1ng School I went ID and talked to Mary Lou and she Sald that she had seen Darlene M1tchell the day before She was a major 1n the Wacs and was a b1g wheel 1n the war de partment George Campbell came rn to see Mary Lou wh1le I was there I wondered why Mary Lou acted so funny but I guess rt was because George had become the Reverend George Campbell That day for dmner I went to the Waldorf Astorta There I saw a very famtlxar face Jack Ross mam chef Jack served me adel1c1ous drnner Jack sa1d he Just happened to have two extra opera uckets and hoped I would Jotn h1m When we arrlved Bob Danforth who was usher found us two of the best seats As the curta1n rose I was astomshed to see Maretta Sttmpson and Bernard Powers domg the new verston ofthe Sabre Dance They currently had been dotng therr dance and song for T V Later we found Maretta and Bernard had won the1r fame through the splendld teachtngs of Jerry Ostrum He was operatmg a branch of the Arthur Murry Dance Studros and was also g1v1ng vocal lessons Wh1le shopplng rn one of the more promment stores my eye was taken anew by the beautxful weddtng gown belng modeled by Vanna I-Iamden When I commented on the beauty of the gown she was overjoyed to tell me that If was deslgned by the famous Harvey Madtson destgner of weddxng gowns Harvey told me that he l1ved ln the suburbs of New York across the street from the former Mary Ann Arthun who ran a m1nk farm Harvey sa1d that Mary Ann had marrxed a soldter and had settled down to rarse her mxnks My plane rrde home was very emoyable The p1lot Moms Blakeley let me r1de up front w1th htm AtSt Lours Mo we had to waxt over 24 hours and I decrded to go to the Barnum and Batley clrcus where Janet Curry was a bronc buster and Dauna Le Mond the worlds famous Lady Wrestler After arr1v1ng1n B1ll1ngs I saw posters that sa1d vote for Arnold George for Governor I drdn t watt to see 1f Arnold got the job but I heard he was marrred and had a pretty good chance for the offlce Iharled a tax1 and started for the Northern Hotel when pollce srrens started blowmg The parade was lead by the Chref of Polrce Dons Mlller I was very bewrldered to frnd her clearrng the road for actress Clarts Arnold Clarrs was dr1v1ng a yellow convert1ble w1th leopard sk1n seat covers and had just arrrved from Hollywood S1tt1ng rn the lobby of the Northern I heard a person hollerrng Shoe shrne 5:2 Who was rt but Bob Parker Bob told me he was trytng to work hrs way through college I gourneyed to Absarokee and started to go home As I sat at the drug store fountam and drank my coke I read the Absarokee news I saw the famtlrar name of Aarah Arney who currently gave advrce for the love lorn column Howard George the soda Jerk told me he had Just accepted a new posmon at Smg Slng Cas Warden of course I asked htm about Mary Lou Hergts He replted that she had been to hrs house recently trytng to sell Bendtx washers I was then ready to go home and stay as I had seen all of the class of 52 I5 . , ., . - , . . .
